  2. Confirm the offline fallback. If the CMS vendor or cloud goes down, can the player still boot into a cached, signed content loop? Locked signage with no offline mode turns a network blip into a black screen.
  3. Clarify who owns remote management. Is the device-management console yours, the OEM’s, or the CMS vendor’s? If you change software vendors later, you must be able to wipe, reflash, and re-provision without the incumbent’s help.
